This unique stoneware, exquisitely hand-crafted from satin spar selenite is from Morocco. These bowls are perfect for gathering crystal treasures for an energy bath.
Selenite is named after the Greek word for moon, contrary to popular belief, it contains no significant selenium. Satin Spar selenite is a form of fibrous and crystallized gypsum. Other varieties include alabaster, selenite, desert rose and gypsum flower, gypsum rock, ram horn and sand gypsum. It is common to refer to satin spar as selenite.
As a healing stone, this mineral is commonly used to charge or cleanse crystals. It is said to help regenerate the cellular structure and has been used to correct skeletal disorders and to promote flexibility. Selenite also provides clarity of mind, expanding awareness.
There has been debate about Satin Spar being "fake" and not true Selenite, Satin Spar is not fake Selenite but a different fibrous variety of the same mineral gypsum. While "True Selenite" forms clear, flat, plate-like crystals and "Satin Spar Selenite" forms fibrous, silky crystals with a cat's eye effect they both share the same chemical makeup and metaphysical properties. The industry has used Selenite to describe Satin Spar leading to confusion rather than deliberate deception. Since Satin Spar is so widely known as Selenite in the metaphysical community it is often sold under that name but technically it's not the clear Selenite variety. This is where the confusion of using names for crystals comes in. "True Selenite" is rare and more expensive than its cousin "Satin Spar Selenite". I hope this clears up any confusion, while some may feel that only "True Selenite" holds the metaphysical properties of Selenite I do not resonate with that personally and feel that "Satin Spar Selenite" is one of the best cleansing stones out there to purify the energy within you, your home and other crystals and connecting to the higher vibrational realms. My advice is always to feel the crystal for yourself and discern how it feels for you, you know what's best for yourself. If you're not into or believe in the healing properties of crystals that's ok as well, like anything if it makes you happy to just have them in your life that's great too and some customers that come into the store just like them and that's it and I respect that. If you are reading still wishing you the most beautiful day or evening, may peace always be with you no matter what is happening in your life!
The heart has long been used as a symbol to refer to the spiritual, emotional, moral and in the past, the intellectual core of a human being. As the heart was once widely believed to be the seat of the human soul, the word heart continues to be used poetically to refer to the soul and stylized depictions of hearts are used as prevalent symbols representing love.
The moon symbolizes time, cycles, equilibrium, regeneration and change.
